Steve has been a long time record and photo collector along with being an avid fan of performers from West Texas. Many of his photos can be found in published books and include Elvis Presley, Buddy Holly, Roy Orbison and others. The first time he saw Roy Orbison perform was in Dallas in 1962. His interest in Buddy Holly & The Crickets led him to striking up a great friendship, in the early 70's, with John Beecher of England. According to Steve, John has done more than anyone to keep the flame going for Buddy & The Crickets and for years has had many great releases on his Rollercoaster label in England.
