Lee Roy Was Raised On A Ranch In Stephenville, Texas. His Dad Was A Friend Of Bob Wills And Lee Roy Sang On Bob's Radio Shows In Ft. Worth At Age 7. At 14 He Was Playing Clubs As A Member Of Kinky Friedman's Jewboys. His Slide Guitar Influence Came From Duane Allman & Singing/Songwriting Influence From Haggard. In 77' He Moved To Austin Where He Played 10 Years Making As Little As $25.00 A Night. Next Stop Was Nashville Where He Would Be Discovered Playing At The Bluebird Cafe. His First CD On Arista Received Good Reviews But It Wasn't Until 2 Years Later That He Had His First Hit From The "Love Without Mercy" CD That Yielded 3 Top 5 Songs And His First #1 "Tender Moments". In 93' He Had 3 More Top 10 Songs & In 95' 2 #1's From The "We All Get Lucky Sometimes" CD. Lee Roy Has Also Been In Demand For Session Work Playing On Trisha Yearwood, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Delbert McClinton's Recordings. A Gifted Songwriter Writing Nearly 150 Songs Including "That's My Story" #1 For Collin Raye. His Band "The Hot Links" (James Pennebaker-Stephen Mackey-Kevin Mckendree-Lynn Williams) Provided Most Of The Back-up Work On His 97' Album "Every Night's A Saturday Night" A CD That Has Plenty Of (Gotta Have Em' Folks To Sell ) Rock Licks But Doesn't Overpower The Listener. Lee Roy Parnell Has Received 5 Major Award Nominations And Today Makes His Home In Fredricksburg, Texas.
