John Rich

 

John RichJohn Rich is the former bass player/singer of the popular country group Lonestar who have had a string of #1 hits beginning in 1995. Rich left the group in 1998 joining up with songwriter “Big” Kenny Alphin. Their first collaboration “I Pray For You” in 2000 became John’s first solo single reaching #53 staying on the Country Charts 20 weeks. The following year John released a follow-up single “Forever Loving You” that charted #46. In 2003 they released their first record as a duo under the name of “Big & Rich” that made #21 followed by “Save A Horse” (Ride A Cowboy) in 2004 that became their biggest single reaching #11. Their album “Horse Of A Different Color” that included “Save A Horse” went on to top the Billboard Country Album Charts RIAA Certified Triple Platinum along with reaching #6 on the Billboard Pop 200.

 

In 2003 Martina Mc Bride recorded their co-written song “She’s A Butterfly” In 2006 their single “8th of November” received a CMA Music Video nomination. In 2007 Rich hosted his own realty TV Show “Gone Country”.  John Rich was born in Amarillo.
