Guy Clark Was Born In Rockport And Raised In Monahans, Texas. Guy Is A Songwriter First And Then A Singer. When You Have The Talent To Write Good Country & Western Songs The Tendacy Is To Move To Nashville. Guy Moved To Nashville In The Early Seventies. In 1981 His Recording "The Partner Nobody Chose" Broke Into The C&W Top 40 At #38. His Follow-Up Release Charted At #42 Meeting The Standards For Admission "The West Texas Music Hall Of Fame Honor Roll". In 1998 Guy Was Honored With "The ASCAP Music Foundation Lifetime Achievement Award" Presented By Vince Gill And Rodney Crowell. In 1989 He Joined ASCAP's #1 Club For Songwriters Having Co-Written "She's Crazy For Leaving". Guy Wrote "Desperados Waiting For A Train" Recorded By The Highwayman (Willie-Waylon-Kris-John), "Texas 1947" (Guy Lived In Monahans In 1947) & "The Last Gunfighter" For Johnny Cash And "New Cut Road" For Bobby Bare. One Of His Very First Songs Was Recorded By The Everly Brothers. To Date Guy Has Had A Total 9 Album Releases.
